Who can?

Even I can’t
Stop myself from
Seeing you
In my dreams…
How can this world?

A published writer now :)

The above link is to my short story, titled ‘Skylight’, published a few days ago in Helter Skelter’s third volume of New Writing. This volume, unlike the previous two, is based on the theme ‘Strange Love’. Though this is the sixth short story I have written, it is my very first published story! I’d be thrilled to hear any feedback on the story from all you people who have been following my blog…

Btw, the illustration is by Pooja Satish, an aspiring artist from Bangalore! Though we’ve never met, she’s condensed my story into the perfect sketch! So, here’s me thanking Pooja too 🙂

Do you exist?

Are there days in your calendar

That are empty?

Are there thoughts so loud in your head

That refuse to let you sleep?

Are there lists with little check-boxes

That taunt you?

Are there hours and days and years

That were swallowed anonymously?

Are there others with lives and dreams and achievements

That make yours seem small?

Are there any traces of the child and the teenager

That you once were?

Are there ways to change the heart

That won’t wound you and bleed you to death?

Are there words within you, deep within you

That have forgotten how to be born through your hand?

Are you there anymore?

Do you exist?

Dreamed stories

They rose off the page in a confused flight of imagination.

They swam mid-air, mingled their mind pictures

And gave me dreams of such colour and chaos:)
